Chapter 1

I sat on the couch in the parlor typing on my laptop. I was listening to the silence. I was the only one home, as Zel was at school, Fran was out shopping and had Cinnamon with her, Detaleny was at his friend Nicks house. Ganon was at work and his sister and nieces were out and about, so I had the place to myself for a few precious hours. I cherished the silence. One would ask why you would cherish silence, but unless you've lived at Parker Manor, then you wouldn't understand.

I heard a car door slam. I looked outside to see the SUV parked in the drive way. Fran and Cinnamon were home. I closed my laptop and walked up the stairs. My bedroom was the one at the top floor. It was a circular room. I chose it because it was the tower room. I heard loud pitter pattering. It was Cinnamon running throughout the house. I heard her coming up the stairs, so I took out my skeleton key and locked my door. I saw the glass door knobs jiggle a bit but I didn't let the child in. I didn't want to put up with her breaking my things or bothering me.

I heard another door slam from outside and saw a blue honda parked in the driveway next to Frans SUV. It was Zel. Thank god he had his own skeleton key. I saw him get out of his car. He had a load of books in his hand. He looked stressed. Cinnamon ran outside and was dancing around, but he gestured for her to go away. She grabbed at his books, but he pushed her back. He kept on walking. As he walked up the stairs I could hear him telling her to go away as she followed him up.

"Zel? Whats wrong? You look like you've had a tough day at school." I said as he came in, still pushing the fat child back out of the room. He quickly locked the door behind him.

"Yes. I had a test today. I don't know whether or not I bombed it." He said. He layed down on the bed.

"Fran needs to control her kid." Zel said.

"Could be worse, Veronica and her children could also be bothering you with their snoots" I said to him.

"Rosalie, don't jinx it" He said to me. I unlocked the door and went downstairs. I saw Ganon sitting there on his bed, his door was open. I could not help but to peer in at him. His black hair laying down on his head, that serious look he always had on his face with his snide remarks of sarcasm. Yet, I was somehow drawn to him. I don't know why and I didn't say anything to Zel about it. I sat there, thinking thoughts I shouldn't think. Wanting someone I could never have.

Ganon noticed me looking in.

"May I help you?" He asked. My face turned beet red and I turned away. He just sort of stared. I wondered if he knew what I thought? I wanted so badly to tell him. I wanted to pour it all out, but I could not.

"Your door was open, so I got nosy. Surprised Frans kid didn't bother you" I said to him.

"Yeah, well I just got in. Also Frans fat little garbage disposal knows if she comes in here, I will kill her." He said.

"Ganon..." I started to say. He looked up.

"Nah, it's nothing." I said to him. He walked over to his door about to shut it, looked at me before shutting the door. I wondered what thoughts he was thinking. I started down the stairs as the door opened. I heard an annoying voice. 4 annoying voices to be precise. Veronica and her teenage posse.

"Great. Now I have to deal with little miss prissy pants and her snob tribe." I said to myself. I could not believe Veronica and Ganon were brother and sister. She was his older sister. She had black hair like he did, but her face looked different than his. He had pretty brown eyes. Hers were blue. I guess even if genetics are the same, personalities and looks can still differ.

I walked back up the stairs before they noticed me. I went back to my room. Zel was already asleep. I grabbed my computer and got online. I had a picture of Ganon and Zel set as the background. They were both good friends. I had both of them on my background in the same picture. I wanted this in real life. It's not greedy is it? Would it mess up my relationship with Zel or his friendship with Ganon? I would not want to do that.

Zel was my nerd. He had brown eyes and brown hair. His hair was a bit on the messy side and he wore glasses. He liked his plaid shirts and khaki pants. Ganon on the other hand liked his T shirts, jeans, and his black hair was styled neatly, usually slicked back.

They were polar opposites but they were good friends. I didn't want to ruin this.

I heard voices outside of the room. It was Ganon's and Veronicas. I peered out, but they had already left. Ganon left his room unlocked, so I slipped in it to see what was in there. I found his diary. Me, being the nosy person I was, I took pictures of his room and his diary entries. This way I could read it without getting caught. I slipped out of his room and back into mine and uploaded the pictures onto my computer.

"July 31st 2007,

I just moved into a house with my friend Zel and his fiance Rosalie. The place is a bit hectic. I don't know how these people can be so insane. My sister and nieces are planning on moving in soon. I shouldn't be saying this, but there is this woman who I want, who I will never have. It's wrong of me to want someone who already has someone. But I guess people can dream."

I sat there wondering who this woman was. I felt like I wanted to cry, I didn't want to read anymore, but I did anyways. The next entry had something that I found shocking.
